Notoriously unpredictable Vancouver weather (or hitting the snooze button one too many times) leaves us with frizzy, manic-looking manes no straightener can fix.
Determined to nix the problem, we decided to turn to the Brazilian Blowout, an innovative new smoothing treatment perfected by stylist Kristy Davies of Essensuals London.
This 90-minute process ($300) axes out chemicals and formaldehyde, using only a nutrient and polymer formula to create a protective layer of amino acids around the hair shaft.
The end result is a head of hair that dries shinier than diamonds and healthier than wheatgrass. It lasts up to four months, and we still have the option to curl or crimp our locks, too.
Bye bye, straightener. Hola, hair.
