Those Yaletown ladies thought they were special for having Canada's first and only blow-dry-only bar. Well, turns out the rest of us are in for a treat, too.

That’s right: with the success of its first location, which opened a year ago courtesy of 21-year-old London College of Fashion grad Devon Brooks and her mom, Judy, Blo has expanded.
We scoped out the new location on South Granville, set to open to the public this weekend, and found the same sleek, lounge-like feel as the original, complete with Philippe Starck "Louis Ghost" chairs, hot pink lucite countertops and stainless steel detailing.
Gazing at the extensive menu of eight super-stylish, super-quick 'dos ($29 for 30 minutes), we flip-flopped between the Executive Sweet, for skyscraper-straight hair, and the Holly Would, a flirty, bouncy look with plenty of sexy curls. Alas, we decided to save both for another day, and settled on Sex, Hugs and Rock & Roll—of the tousled, slightly-messy rocker chic hair variety, of course.
And with several other locations slated to open in even more neighbourhoods around the city, looks like we’re all in for a new blo.
