While we think Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have had more than their fair fifteen minutes of fame, we’ll admit that we’re not ones to refuse an opportunity to bask in the spotlight, either. Especially not when we’re sporting a new ‘do.
So when we found out that Shai Dhali, hairstylist extraordinaire, photographer, and owner of Pome Studio, was conducting five-minute photo shoots for her newly-chopped clients and publishing the results on her website, we jumped at the chance. Little did we know that we’d even learn a thing or two about hair and, well, fruit.
Taking a seat in her cheery studio, we first were taught that a pome (which rhymes with home) is any fruit produced by a flowering plant – fitting, considering Dhali’s granny smith-coloured accent wall and preference for Phyto, a natural, plant-based product line.
Then, armed with just her scissors and a swanky mirror, our bangs were trimmed and ends layered (women’s cuts, $55 and colour from $60), and we were equipped with helpful tips such as how to bulk up fine hair, how to choose a bob length, and how to achieve true redhead colour. (It seemed to work wonders for Lindsay’s fame game.)
