We like to wax nostalgic about many things: old Seinfeld episodes, the ’80s and past boyfriends. One thing we don’t often reminisce about? Cafeteria food.
That’s all changing, however, now that Cafeteria has opened (from La Buca and Pied-à-Terre’s Andrey Durbach and Chris Stewart).
Without paper menus, there’s just an old-fashioned board featuring drinks like wines by the glass (from $5) and specials that change daily, depending on what fresh goodies Chef Durbach is able to source. Entrées might include what we devoured—lobster tortellini ($18) and kurobata pork teriyaki over fried rice ($19)—but there’s no guarantee.
What is for sure, though, is that we’ll be remembering this food for years to come.
