At the swish opening of the Thompson, we spotted a flurry of custom garbs from Jeremy Laing and Bustle. And that was just the staff.
The first international outpost of the design-heavy chain promises to turn the formerly-sleepy section of the Wellington strip into the latest It spot.
With three restos, including the hotly anticipated Scarpetta (from NYC chef Scott Conant), The Counter (a 24-hour diner) and Warbora (Japanese) plus three lounges, we don’t have to check in to check out the city’s swankiest new address (rooms from $300 to $4500).
Turns out the only key we need (despite the rumours) is the one we’ll have to flash to soak in the 360-degree skyline at the guest-only rooftop pool.
How’s that for a splash?
