It’s easy to maintain a Zen outlook on our mats (well, most of the time). But off the mat? That’s a whole other story.
[ahimsa yoga] is an eco-friendly studio and community space sharing both yoga and the yogic lifestyle (modernized for the millennium). Yogi Miranda Chapman and partner Andrew Perry have opened not just a studio, but their actual home, to the Mile End district.
Miranda teaches affordable hatha yoga (drop-in $12, packages available) in an environment dedicated to the first principle of yogic philosophy, ahimsa (non-violence, in thought, word and action). This includes maintaining a vegetarian, plastic- and packaging-free zone, and providing natural rubber yoga mats for use any time.
Brings new meaning to “Om sweet Om.”
