A Job Worth Doing

After years of coffee addiction and red wine appreciation, our “say cheese” smile was looking a little more like aged cheddar than fresh mozzarella. 32White

We didn’t realize how bad it was until our consultation at 32White, Toronto’s first dedicated teeth whitening clinic. The Aha/Eww moment: When the flat screen we were watching from the dentist’s chair switched from reality TV (scary) to a close up of our 32 not-so-whites (scarier).

On our second appointment, Dr. Shainhouse performed the state-of-the-art whitening procedure. The chemical application caused less discomfort than a routine cleaning (which they suggest you have done a few days before), and the unique formula used ensured our teeth didn’t end up dried out or over-sensitive.

Over the following week, we continued the whitening process at home with customized take-home trays made from impressions taken on our first visit. Plus, we bolstered the effects with the clinic’s White Smile Diet. (Goodbye blueberries, hello iced coffee through a straw.) We went back in two weeks to review the final result (if you aren’t satisfied, they’ll continue with another round).

The take-home products and procedure, from check-in to check-up, came to $1475. After countless compliments (many of the “You look so good, what’s different?” variety), we knew paying for a higher quality of service and expertise was worth it.

And unlike our stack of skull prints, clear shoes and super-metallic bags, our pearly whites will still be stylish and stunning next year.
