The Eagle's classic "Take it to the Limit" has become our exercise theme. Even though the mantra "no pain, no gain" was supposed to die with the eighties, bikini season is here (and our thighs are too).
When we wake up the next morning feeling like boot camp has finally broken us, we just call Rama, of Rama's Massage. Newly arrived from Oahu, Hawaii, via Australia’s Gold Coast, this surfing, yoga-practicing massage therapist brings his table, organic massage oils, and 5 years of experience to our apartment—and brings us back to life.
Officially, Rama’s massages ($65-$90) combine Thai, Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi and deep tissue techniques to treat all sorts of body ailments ranging from ever pervasive stress to specific issues—including sports injuries, muscle pain, arthritis, and neck and back problems. The treatment helps to circulate blood and lymphatic fluid; unofficially, Rama’s magic hands left us with a blissed-out glow our dermatologist would be jealous of.
Bikini season? Bring it on. With a post-workout treatment like this, we’re hitting the weights more often.
