Local Fashion Finds a New Home

une île en amérique opens on laurierMontreal (Oct.11.11)

Montreal Fashion Week has long passed, but at Une ȋle en Amérique, Quebec designers will get the star treatment year-round.

The tasteful new boutique boasts two floors of made-in-Quebec clothing and accessories, all designed by the province's finest.

We can’t imagine a more perfect LBD than Nadya Toto’s fitted bodice and peplum number ($350), and swooned over Martin Lim's aubergine maxi skirt ($435) for a more casual look. Rest assured, designs by local darlings Marie Saint Pierre and Denis Gagnon are also available.

It's a good thing the shop also stocks a few non-Quebec designers, or we couldn't have fawned over a sensuous black button-down ($210) by Vancouver's Obakki.

The wait for the next Montreal Fashion Week just got a whole lot easier.
