Boutique Serves Up Style with a Conscience

There are some shops we frequent so often, we might as well call them home.  

And as far as retail spaces go, it doesn’t get much homier than atelier b. On a quiet stretch of bustling St-Laurent Blvd., co-designers and roommates Catherine Métivier and Anne-Marie Laflamme built this sustainable fashion haven right in (what used to be) their living room.

Browsing through racks of organic cotton T-shirts ($55) and pencil skirts ($115) feels like perusing the closet of a close – not to mention impeccably dressed – friend. We swooned over a ’50s-style bright red frock ($145) and were transported to a simpler time taking in the workshop’s antique details and pared-down aesthetic.

So, when can we move in?
