NDG Gets a General Store

When we hear the words general store, we think of motor oil and salt-water taffy – not designer jeans.

But the Van Roost brothers are bringing new meaning to the term with BRUXE Magasin Général, stocking their shop with all the essentials of a stylish urban existence – including BRUXE, the duo’s own line of clothing, bags and accessories.

Our sartorial needs were satisfied with an endless selection of wardrobe staples: jeans by Levi’s ($78-$98) and Naked and Famous ($120-$200), Luv U Always jeggings ($95-$120), Bloch shoes ($200-$220) and frocks by local fave Betina Lou ($160-$200). As for housewares, Furni’s throwback alarm clocks ($150) had us instantly smitten.

This ain’t your grandma’s five-and-dime.
