We treat our walls to all kinds of art. Unfortunately, our floors are getting jealous.
Before they turn a nasty shade of green, we’re turning to the SourceUK Canadian Fashion Designers Series. The project combines major Canadian design talent with handcrafted, fringeless, silk and wool carpets.
We’re willing to invest in floor art by Arthur Mendonca, Smythe, Bustle, Izzy Camilleri and Virginia Johnson. (We love their clothes, seems fitting that we love their carpets too.)
Instead of mounting a Monet (inspired print) we’re sprucing up our dining room with silhouette dancers ($85/sq.ft.) from Bustle. Or perhaps our bedroom could benefit from wall-to-wall medallion tiles ($65/sq.ft.) from Smythe’s collection (the only all-wool design in the lot). And the signature waterfall ($85/sq.ft.) area rug from Johnson will be a definite conversation starter in our living room.
Maybe after this fashionable makeover, our floors will forgive us for walking all over them.
