We love new clothes, but we’re also fans of letting our accessories do all the talking.

At the Charlotte Hosten Boutique, statement jewellery is de rigueur, and each piece is handmade by the eponymous designer. The necklaces, made from stiff fabric and everything from pearls to vintage broaches, give any outfit a dramatic neckline.   

We tried on the Enchanted necklace ($185) made with Swarovski crystals, vintage brass rings and metal, which paired perfectly with the beaded Helsinki bracelet ($118). The cosy boutique – complete with sofa, throw pillows and necklaces displayed on hangers – houses Hosten’s atelier and also sells made-in-Canada goodies like the lustworthy fold-over leather clutches by Dodo ($85).

At least we'll save money on clothes.
