When the economy drops, so do our spending binges. We try to cut corners where we can (bring on the canned tuna); we do however draw the line at our eco-friendly choices. And our spa visits.
So we’ve wiggled some room in our budget for the newly launched Organics Spa Binge skin care line – debuting along with a luxurious pedicure at Absolute Spa. (Owner Wendy Lisogar-Cocchia is behind these vegan, not tested on animals, organic, recyclable and carbon neutral products.)
Stepping into the new West Vancouver location, our organics pedicure ($70) kicked-off with a delicious foot soak. Already sold, we were next treated to the luffa body scrub ($23 for 180 ml) on our tired toes, feet and calves. The luffa grains, blood orange extract, ground cranberry, pomegranate and lemon leaf oils left us oh-so-invigorated. Our final massage featured the rare white grapefruit shea lotion ($28 for 180 ml). Silky without being greasy, the citrus scents were instantly uplifting.
When all was said and done, leaving this organic footprint behind was worth the splurge…
