Look outside. It’s dull, bleak and grey. The colours of summer are a distant memory, as is the summer heat. That is, until we stepped into Eleven Eleven, an oasis of everything bright and sunny.
Skirts, dresses and various tops fill the shiny space between the shop’s four walls, all custom-made from recycled (and beautifully dazzling) saris. Each piece has its own unique stitching and accents, meaning the possibility of running into anyone wearing the same piece is between nil and zero. (That suits our competitive fashionista sensibilities just fine.)
We loved the dresses with the lace-up backs ($98), suitable for all shapes and sizes. The reversible halter top ($48) made us feel catwalk-worthy and comfortable at the same time! (Who thought it possible?)
We also fell for the great vintage shoes, jackets and everything in-between at the back of the shop.
And with our wardrobe back from the brink of muted and hazy, summer can’t be that far off, can it?
