Turkey pepperoni, fresh ravioli and beautiful flowers have always been fair finds for Granville Island, but the quaint marketplace has never really been our first stop for a sartorial fix.
Which is why we thought we were dreaming when we chanced upon the aptly named Little Dream, sister store to Gastown’s Dream boutique.
Owner Wendy deKruyff has stocked the miniature version of her iconic store with many of the same Canadian (and particularly British Columbian) designers. Located inside the Net Loft (near our other favourite store, Paper-Ya), the space is approximately half the size of the Gastown location, but with the same range of price points (from affordable to more splurge-worthy), the same, cozy feel and – of course -- the same ultra-friendly and knowledgeable service.
We love local designer Allison Wonderland for her dresses and well-constructed tops ($70-$180), and are coveting a new bag ($150-$400) by Erin Templeton or Albertan Sarah Shell of 442 McAdam. Also on the roster are cute bunny hoodies by Victoria-based Morena Clothing, and plenty of jewellery ($12-$500) by Poodlebreath, Starfish by Lulu Fiedler, and Dotted Loop.
