Home may be where the heart is but ever since last week, our hearts have been stuck at the new Teatro Verde flagship.
Granted, we’d be perfectly happy to move in there if we could (kind of like a mix between Eloise at the Plaza and ’80s movies of overnighting at a mall).
It has been 12 years since Shawn Gibson and Michael Pellegrino first opened their original (designer) doors, and the expansion to a freestanding home with two storeys of jaw-dropping finds was definitely due.
Located in an historic Yorkville building (the original Mount Sinai Hospital), there are now 10 departments to keep us busy. A stop in Floral got us centrepiece set, a walk over to Beauty and we found our fix of Fresh and Savon de Marseille and then it was upstairs to Les Enfants, Pets and of course, the Furniture finds.
We picked up great gifts like City Walks Toronto ($16.50) and the Wild and Wolf patterned home and garden tools. Our patio would be perfect with Danica Studio aviary salad plates ($8.95) though we wound up eyeing the fine china too. From fashion books in the Assouline Library to an entirely new dining room; we’re covered for both big and small.
And our heart will just have to get used to many return visits.
