With summer right around the corner, we’ve embarked on a mission impossible: To find the perfect T-shirt. Not too tight, not too loose, not too short... it should fit just right. (Goldilocks was onto something.)
Though summers past may have been plagued by ill-fitting cotton tees, this year the outlook is quite sunny. One of LA’s finest brands, James Perse, is making its Canadian debut in Westmount. Made from 100% European cotton from France and Italy, these tees are no longer just for tinsel town.
Although we walked in for a basic top, we just couldn’t resist the other sumptuously soft cotton summer essentials. Our must-haves? The long v-neck dress ($199) made with a double layer of cotton to keep us looking fresh in white (without any overexposure). The perfect everyday pant ($289), with just the right combination of casual and comfy and, just ’cause we love the exclusivity of it all, a signature tee ($65, in black, white, blue or grey) customized to our city’s finest with Mont Royal, Vieux Montreal and other landmarks scrawled on the back.
After discovering the store’s other collections, including bikinis ($125) and bathrobes ($239), we’ve got Hollywood’s laidback glam nailed. (All we need now is the beach.)
