My Last Blog Before Moving To Italy

I've been keeping a secret. I'm leaving.
No, that's not a metaphor. In a week I'm getting on a plane and moving to Sardinia, Italy. I plan on finishing the novel I started eight years ago (using my spare time to run and bike through mountains and drink really good red wine). I'll be there basically until Christmas - give or take a few traveling adventures - and then I'll be moving to a small town in Mexico in January to start (and finish) the first round of edits. I should be back in April, completed manuscript in hand.
This will be my last Sweetspot blog post. What's a girl to say?
Writing a goal down and telling a lot of people increases the likelihood of success, so I knew I had to announce the novel plans. My family and friends have been so supportive of the decision, I couldn't sign off without sending out a big, communal thank you. And for anyone who can't believe I'm actually doing this (really, who does this kind of thing?)... well this final thought is for you.
If you're considering - insert life dream here - don't bother with pro and con lists, don't ask for advice, don't think about possible outcomes, and don't worry at all about HOW. While you're at it, throw away WHY, too. Clear your mind of everything except one thought: Do I want this to be a part of my life's story - YES OR NO? As in deathbed, writing obituary, bedtime tales told to your grandkids about you and all that jazz. If the answer is YES, figure out how to do it.
Will my life include the writing of a novel? YES. That's all I needed to know.
