Since normally the audience (all 1000 of us) has to exit the runway room after every show, the brief interlude of wine and beer in our seats before Barbie by David Dixon was a welcome reprieve (though maybe not for the volunteers when all was done, I heard a lot of breaking glass when we finally filed out).
The show opened with Funny Face's Think Pink scene (very fitting) and pink was certainly present. Models wore subtle makeup of the shade (with loose, flowing hair) and the line definitely managed to avoid being costume overkill.
A modern magenta was forefront but everything from black-and-white checks (in varying sizes) to all black, sequin shifts, silvery grey florals and even some looks for Ken went with it. So while I can't see myself being able to pull off a full pink trench, I loved the subtle touches like a pink lining for a full black skirt, skinny belts to break up a look and great details like big black buttons popping from the pockets (in fabric folds to make points).
Think pink but it doesn't need to be the only thing on your mind.
