I didn't know what to expect from menswear line Lizares, but my first impression was a good one. I loved the use of basic black and white, which left room to appreciate the cut, shape and style of the clothing, among other things (read: the male models).
A casual edginess was present in each look, whether it was the lightweight fabrics used, the converse-style shoes or beach-bare feet and rolled cuffs. The use of accessories such as long, chunky chains, twisted leather wristbands and handcuffs (yes, handcuffs) as well as pops of purple and yellow in the jacket lining helped take the looks from day to night. And though I didn't know what to expect, I certainly didn't anticipate the feathery-light flowing cape and heavy gold gladiator statement necklace combo that ended the show.
My new menswear mantra? Expect the unexpected.
