This is one of the shows that is always packed (just ask the beleaguered announcer trying to get everyone take their seats and stop blocking the runway) and David Dixon didn't disappoint.
The front row was packed (Jeanne Beker was talking Rick Mercer through what I'd guess was his first show) and a very full line sheet awaited us (39 Hanging Gardens of Babylon-inspired looks listed plus another 41 for the Barbie by David Dixon show that followed) plus the freebie I was perhaps most grateful for - a bottle of water.
Lightweight looks hit the runway in shades like canary yellow (and covered in fabric paillettes that stuck out as half moons) a near-cobalt blue, white and look-at-me metallic strips listed as aluminum. I loved the dress that paired a yellow feathered skirt with bustier top (even if I'm not sure how you sit in something like that).
A successful show for a successful designer (who certainly knows how to dress his customer while still keeping things current).
