The scuttlebut on Katrina Tuttle?
The Alternative Fashion Week darling made the grade transitioning to the big tent with a collection that sung spring in sky-blue, daffodil-yellow and blooms of blush-pink.
I loved the wink to the 1960s, with subtle, geometric prints meandering their way across boxy shift dresses; while cascading folds of fabric and asymmetrical shoulders updated the look to...well, Spring/Summer 2010.
Origami pleats sealed the deal with button detailing pinning them to skirts and dresses (reminding me of actual pin-wheels), and a spring-inspired gown adorned with ragged bits of tulle, sequins and floral embroidery was only slightly marred by the undone zipper on the model. (I, however, would be happy to hold the dress up on myself, any day).
As for Katrina Tuttle? Turns out she's a bit of a spring chicken at only 21 years old.
Expect to see much, much more from her in the future.
