The last day of fashion week was a windy, cold and rainy one, so I didn't need another reason to pine for warmer weather, but Ula Zukowska's spring 2010 collection gave me one anyways. Airy fabrics and pearlescent-sheen neutrals ruled the runway, while revamped boyfriend looks (think loose-fitting, high-waisted capri trousers and long, cozy blazers) gave them edge. This collection definitely reminded me of spring.
Gray organza hooded zip-ups (that would be perfect to throw over any spring outfit) had me thinking April showers, while May flowers (in the form of big rosettes, à la Carrie Bradshaw) made shoes and waist-cinching belts pop. I know I've got a while to wait, but once the Christmas lights are down and I smell even a little but of spring in the air, I'm figuring out a way to get those skin-tight black liquid leggings on. But if I can't, I'll settle for the beautiful beige-gray organza dress with asymmetrical gathering (but only if it's paired with the black rosette belt).
Now, if only I could fast forward to Sunday March 21, 2010 (yes, I googled the first day of spring).
