Former Roots lead designer Jules Power, hit the ground running with her first career runway show yesterday at LG Fashion Week. Using the familiar fabrics from her days at Roots, she took the designs to an entirely new level. Think Canadiana with edge; sweatpant leggings (with a tiny bit of a harem pant feel), lots of plaid and denim, and even a little bit of polar fleece. There were wool blazers and skirts in a houndstooth print, and (if you can imagine it) a dress covered in unicorns.
Her collection was exactly what we'd want for fall. Something warm (yet stylish) to cozy up in. After all, who was it that said beauty had to be painful? We (and Jules) completely disagree.
