Amelia Earheart, eat your heart out. Pink Tartan's clean, elegant style took on new heights with aviation inspired designs, accented with everything from edgy zippers to lady-like bows. Classic silhouettes like A-line skirts, ankle-cropped trousers and slimming long sleeve turtlenecks were given new life with over-sized puff shoulders, touches of lace, and peculiar fur harnesses. And models sported chic little aviator caps that we’re hoping become the next big trend for fall (particularly the sparkly silver version!).
We saw the usual colours that have flooded the runway for fall: black, grey and cream, but we were pleased to see a bright pop of red. A signature trend in the collection had to be the Mongolian lamb’s wool skirts that added volume to the body-hugging turtlenecks. We’re not sure if it’ll catch on, but they sure looked snug for fall (and would make our waists look insanely slim). Last but not least, a sweet cream dress with a puff skirt, featuring capped sleeves covered in pearls, ended the show and made a lasting impression of Pink Tartan’s ability to create classic but contemporary looks that are the epitome of femininity.
