If you don't know who Katrina Tuttle is, I highly recommend you find out. This up-and-coming Canadian designer is showing strong talent, and her show is quickly becoming one of my favourites of the week.
Her Fall/Winter 2010 collection was trendy, yet elegant. The perfect mix that most women strive for. There was a lot of black, but it was combined with just the right amount of colour. I loved the bright bluish-purple cocktail dress with the one shoulder pleating, along with the oversized bow-flower combination that adorned many of her pieces.
There was inspiration taken from the spring and fall seasons and incorporated into the collection. From lace overlay on cocktail gowns in a leaf pattern, to floral patterns on sweaters and coats that looked almost hand-painted.
The best part of Katrina's collection was that every piece was completely wearable. After doing some research, I was extremely disappointed to find out there are only boutiques in Halifax that carry the line, but excited to see she's soon launching an online store.
Better start saving.
