Lucian Matis wowed a room full of fashionistas with his roman literature-inspired line on the final day of LG Fashion Week. The Project Runway Canada alum’s fall/winter 2010 collection was anything but ordinary. His pieces were elaborate, detailed, sophisticated and extravagant.

The Toronto-based designer used vivid prints with layers of texture to create a truly unique and inspiring collection. His palette of black, gray, blue and gold was reminiscent of regal charm. We especially loved his exaggerated shoulders and hips, exposed bold zippers, puff-sleeves, fur trimming, tassels, and beading. He crafted edgy studded accents (which normally make us think of punk rock) and turned them into elegant feminine ornaments.

The show was breath taking to watch from start to finish as masterpieces filed out one after the other. From tucked up hairdos, glamourous evening gloves, cropped vinyl leggings, and hand-made accessories, the precision and continuity among the looks was superior and exquisite.
