Proving that fashion inspiration can hit close to home, Wesley Badanjak looked to his mom and aunt for the LOVAS fall/winter 2011 collection. Entitled "Sisters", the show embodied the immigration story of Manda Badanjak and her twin sister Marija Vejin through a blending of traditional Slavic floral prints, jewel tones and contemporary cuts.

The result? A well-tailored and wearable collection that was as chic as it was unpretentious. We absolutely adored the slim-fitting double-breasted coats and sleekly tailored poppy-print dresses; and cocoon coats in grey tweed were an instant must-add to our closet.

Shantung-silk dresses in plum purples were effortlessly feminine and fun. White shirts spilled over with bold, flirty over-sized bows, and black velvet cocktail dresses and midi-skirts would take us through winter 2011 and beyond.
But our favourite part of the show was when Badanjak brought out his mother and aunt for the curtain call. As the audience broke out into a sea of cheers, the smiles on the two womens' faces outshone any outfit we had seen.

They were definitely the most stunning pieces of all.
