Inspired by his travels through the Caribbean Sea, Lovas by Wesley Badanjak's Sping/Summer 2012 collection took us on a trip to the exotic corners of the world without leaving the studio. Feathered headpieces opened and closed the show, accompanied by geometric prints and floral appliques.
The coral, black, white and sand colour palette made us feel like we were in the midst of an island retreat, and had us dreaming of the warmer days ahead. Standouts included a short black cocktail dress with a fitted bodice and sand-coloured A-line skirt with a hand-painted floral design.
Adding to the island vibe was bold turquoise and stone jewellery from Rita Tesolin — it was a match made in exotic heaven.
The only question on our most of our minds as we left the runway room? How are we ever going to get through the winter?
