Lounge Report: It Lounge
TIFF canada, Toronto
(Sep.12.08)
A film festival wouldn’t be complete without gifting suites, where celebrities receive free “swag” in exchange for a photo op and, hopefully, future exposure. Here’s the inside scoop on another one of TIFFs hot swag spots:
Name: IT Lounge
Where: Windsor Arms Hotel
What: The theme was all about survival this season (including Sweetspot's own onsite Sweet Celeb Survival Tips). Stars were treated to survival must-haves, from looking-good helpers (ACE, Olay, Goody plus the No Crave Diet) to good looking outfits (Esprit, Cookie & Joe, Teva, Powder Room, Ripzone, Fila), a little bit of sparkle (Right Hand Gal) and tasty treats (Maxiccino, FIJI, Track Snacks). Not to mention the Grand & Toy fully equipped Media Centre for working on the go (journalists need help survivig, too) and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto asking, “Who’s Your Hero?”
Who: Paul Gross (Passchendale) snagged some snowboard gear from Powder Room (and signed the BBBS wall) while costar Gil Bellows thought the Right Hand Gal “You’re My Hero” necklace perfectly fit the film’s theme. Chantel Kreviazuk and Jim Sturgess (Fifty Dead Men Walking) got some adorable kids tees from newbie Cookie & Joe while D.B. Sweeney, Lyric Bent and KC Collins all were spotted in Esprit duds on the HELLO! Legendary Couples event red carpet. Queen Latifah added her support to Big Brothers Big Sisters wall and Tim Robbins (The Lucky Ones), Sophia Bush, Petra Nemcova and Paris Hilton also walked away with Right Hand Gal hero pendants. Sam Neill and his wife charmed each booth (and walked away with some comfy Teva sandals. Which we were surprised to hear isn’t pronounced Teee-va but actually, Teh-va). Scott Speedman (The Strangers) dropped in just to sign the BBBS wall (and donate his entire swag bag to the charity) while Mark McKinney (Kids in the Hall) left everyone in the room grinning with his super sweet ways (and Survival Tip).
