We love new products, trends and tips but ever wondered about wearing them in real life? Each week we’ll take on a test drive, from the newest nail colour, to playing with perfume or seeing how long that hairstyle actually takes and share what we find (sweet, not-so-sweet and everything in between).

The inspiration: When we get into our groove on the treadmill, nothing's worse than a headband slipping out of place. Now we're finding the perfect fit.

American Apparel:
SS: This one wasn't my favourite. It did grip my head tightly (maybe a little too tightly) but it didn't wick the moisture away, it just felt like a wet band on my head. I would recommend this one for low intensity workouts.
MS: Cotton headbands, like this one are breathable and lightweight and good for simple workouts, but when I hit the treadmill, this one did start to slip a little. With my fine hair, I need one that really grips.
SS: This one surprised me. I thought it wouldn't stay as well as some of the thicker bands, but it gripped my hair and kept in its place. (Also great price point, since each package comes with four bands!)
MS: I was surprised by how well this one stayed in place. Usually I find the thinner headbands slip the most, but this one really gripped my hair (and because it was so thin, it was lightweight and didn't pinch).
lululemon:
SS (Slipless): I absolutely loved this one! It's a new style, similar to the original material ones, but with an added rubber band on the inside. No matter where I put it (even over my ears!), it stayed put. I also liked that it wicked moisture away from my head, so I couldn't feel it.
MS (Satin): I was intrigued by the adjustable hook on this one but found it a little difficult to hook on at the back of my head. Once I mastered it though, it was great. I kid you not, it did not move one millimetre on my head. I also thought that of all the headbands tested, it was the most stylish (but it's not like I coordinate my workout gear or anything...).
