We love new products, trends and tips but ever wondered about wearing them in real life? Each week we’ll take on a test drive, from the newest nail colour, to playing with perfume or seeing how long that hairstyle actually takes and share what we find (sweet, not-so-sweet and everything in between).

Bumble and bumble Surf Spray
Sari thought: I applied the product to damp hair and found it was easy to apply and dispersed well but I didn’t notice any significant waves forming until my hair was fully dry. I have fine, dry hair to begin with and I found it dried out the ends of my hair even more, leaving them crunchy. It did require some elbow grease to get my hair to cooperate with the product, but I was happy with the results (though I'd recommend using it on dry hair). And the smell totally reminded me of being on the beach in Cape Town!
Nadine thought: When you have hair that tends to curl naturally, spraying a product like this one onto wet hair will weigh down the natural curl too much, so I applied it to dry hair. Plus, Sari tipped me off! My hair still felt heavy with this, and definitely crunchy. The smell didn't remind me of an ocean, but was nice. The look lasted all day, but I'm still not sure the results were exactly what was intended. I wish the product came with more directions.
