The day that shopping becomes an Olympic sport, we know we’ll own the podium. Until then, we consider ourselves in hard-core training mode, and we’ve been sponsored in our endeavours by the American Express AIR MILES Platinum Card.
Our lovely patrons have provided us with 2500 bonus miles to fill the tank for a season of financially responsible shopping. We’re not sure exactly how we’ll spend those AIR MILES, but a few of the things on our list include:

Plus, as we wind our way through everyday purchases like groceries, beauty products, gas, and other daily essentials (clothes, boots, more boots), we’re earning some serious AIR MILES to help bring our aforementioned wish list even closer to reality. It helps that the first time we use our AMEX Platinum Air Miles Card, we get 500 reward miles (that’s two gift cards of $25 each! Wow!).
And for the first year, the annual fee is waived and interest is only 2.99%. Plus, we receive one AIR MILE with every $10 spent at participating sponsors and on other eligible everyday purchases at gas, grocery and drugstores. All other Card purchases earns 1 AIR MILE for every $15. The best part? Double-dipping with our stand-alone AIR MILES card at Sponsors is not frowned upon, it’s encouraged! We’re feeling positively frugal with all of these cost-saving incentives and will be reporting back soon on how the shopathon is going.
