Introducing our latest crush, Yvan Rodic. After taking the internet by storm in 2006 with the launch of his infamous blog, www.facehunter.org, Yvan has been travelling the world in search of true personal style.
We had the pleasure of hosting Yvan recently in Toronto for an exhibit presented by The Society and Balenciaga Paris, featuring some of his quirky French male and female street-fashion icons. We then took the exhibit on the road and headed to Los Angeles to bring Yvan’s great eye and European charm to the Angelenos.
We asked Yvan to answer our questions below, and we love what he had to say!
1) What inspires you?
Talking to strangers, Michel Gondry's music videos, people's apartments, French thinker Jean Baudrillard and contemporary architecture.
2) If you could be anywhere in the world at a specific moment, where would you be and what would it be for?
I'd be in Iceland end of June to enjoy midnight sun.
3) What do you love about Paris?
The terraces. The entire social life takes place on terraces.
4) Tell us about your three favourite local Parisian joints?
- Le Progrès (1 Rue de Bretagne)
- La Perle (78, rue Vieille-du-Temple)
- Café suédois (11 rue de Payenne)
5) What is your next big project?
To come back consistently with the web TV project: The Face Hunter Show (www.facehuntershow.com)
6) Where do you get cultured in Paris/London?
Paris: Galerie Magda Danysz, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Centre Culturel Suisse
London: Rifflemaker Gallery & Barbican Center
7) What's one quirky fact about yourself that people don’t know?
I don't own an iPod.
