With the completion of our second capsule event in Lost Angeles, Culturites are psyched to have stumbled on a home away from home in L.A. When we arrive in Cali, we can’t help but feel quite contented in this west coast paradise. Below are our picks for an ideal way to spend 24 hours in this fair city:
6am – Embrace the fact that you automatically rise early when coming from the east coast and head out for a morning workout. Runyon Canyon or Griffin Park are great for a jog or hike. Quick tip: If celeb hunting is your thing, the earlier you go the better chance you’ll have of catching a glimpse of Hollywood stars getting their morning sweat on!
7am – Post workout, grab a java or smoothie at Kings Road Café before heading home to refresh for the day.
10am – Break your fast at Little Next Door Deli-Cafe. Grab a table on the patio and a copy of the LA Times and bliss away. Also be sure to pick up some of their preserves to bring home for foodie souvenirs. The jams and relishes are to die for.
11am – Do a little shopping at Opening Ceremony. There are a gazillion other boutiques in L.A. so do some research before you go. This is just one store that we can't resist visiting when we’re in the city.
1pm – American Rag is our lunchtime staple for hearty salads, homemade lemonade and scrumptious baked goods. After lunch you can burn off the calories with a little retail therapy at their clothing and homeware boutiques. (Culturities love the half avacado with tuna!)
3pm – Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a great place to spend a lazy morning or afternoon. The collection encompasses works by John Baldessari to Jean-Michel Basquiat..
8pm – Café Stella – dine like a local in Silver Lake at this quaint little French bistro. Great selection of beer on tap, nice wine selection and delicious food. If the weather is right, request a seat on the patio.
10pm – Palihouse – end your evening with a night cap at this pub-meets-bistro. Palihouse is a self-described long-term hotel that is more "urban lodging" than boutique chic (though it has all the trappings of a fabulous modern British inn). In keeping with the theme, may we recommend a Pimm’s Cup?
