April 7th marked The Society Toronto's Literary Salon of bestselling coffee table tomb Let’s Bring Back, the much-celebrated novel by Vogue contributor and Huffington Post columnist Lesley M. M. Blume. Having hosted Ms. Blume in our two other chapters – Miami and NYC – we were more than happy to see her touch down on our home turf for an evening of artful cocktails, delicious bites and engaging conversation.
Joining Ms. Blume on our panel was Bonnie Brooks, the CEO of one of our favourite department stores, the Bay. She offered up some fascinating insight into the cyclical nature of fashion (platforms come back in style because who doesn’t want that extra inch and a half?). Chef and television personality David Rocco caused the ears of foodies to perk up when he chatted about the timelessness of “Grandma’s cooking.” Rounding out our panel of experts was design legend Glenn Pushelberg, which was fitting as he was the mastermind behind the event’s gorgeous venue – the Bay’s The Room.
Moderating these unique personalities was none other than Canadian fashion icon and pioneer Ms. Jeanne Beker.
“With so much happening in Toronto, we were so thrilled at the great turnout for our event and that we were able to offer up something unique to our members and their guests. Lesley gushed about our fair city, the chic guests and the incredible buzz. The feeling must have been mutual; by the next morning she had also increased her Twitter followers by over 200!” — Amanda Blakley and Ashleigh Dempster
