Holiday shopping can be a dreadful sport, especially when malls and streets become human sardine cans, packed tightly with people checking off their gift-buying lists.
Some start early, some start late. Many I know — myself included — fall under the latter category, waiting until the final countdown to December 25 before setting foot into a single store.
If you still haven't a clue what to buy beloved ones, my present to you this year is a little last-minute gift guide to help get the job done before Christmas Eve comes knocking.

Not only does this turntable play records, it's also portable USB-ready with full range stereo speakers. And it's compatible for both Mac and PC. The brown case colour gives it a masculine, retro edge, too.

For The Hostess Mother: Quartz Tea Lights ($54) from Violet Boutique. These awfully pretty iridescent tea lights make a great centre piece for any mother that loves a good dinner party.

For The Shopaholic Sibling: anything from Gilt. The flash sale site now ships to Canada, which means all those great deals on designer goods for yourself, your home or your travel plans are available here up north. I'm kind of madly in love with the kitschy but cute Kenneth Jay Lane Lipstick Pendant Necklace, normally priced at $112 but is now selling for $55 on Gilt.
