Masks at the Ready

(Jan.27.10)
In light of my blogs on charities and gift-giving, yesterday’s press conference for the 11th annual Maskarade Ball was well-timed.
One of the most glamorous fundraising events of the year, the money raised goes to Quebec's leading AIDS fundraising organization, The Farha Foundation. The Foundation has supported over 45 organizations throughout Quebec that provide services to people living with HIV/AIDS as well as AIDS prevention and education programs. Linda Farha took over the foundation after her son Ron’s untimely death in 1993 and continues to be a huge source of courage and inspiration 17 years later.
The theme for this year’s gala, The Futurist Ball, commemorates Ron’s vision of a world without AIDS. Coming on board this year as Honorary co-Presidents are husband and wife design-duo, Joe Mimran (Club Monaco/Caban/Joe Fresh Style) and Kimberly Newport-Mimran (Pink Tartan).

On display at the press conference were some beautiful designs from some of Montreal’s top designers, including Denis Gagnon, Philippe Dubuc and Yso, that will be auctioned off the night of the gala. There was also this gorgeous black and red creation by Pink Tartan.
If you would like to snag an original design in support of an incredible cause, tickets are still available: Thursday, February 18th at Marché Bonsecours.
