It’s that time of year when planning for spring and summer weddings kicks into high gear. (And time to start saving up if you’re invited to more than one.)
It’s easy – and fun – to get caught up in the excitement, the details, the whirlwind of preparations. (I speak from experience, as I'll be celebrating my 5-year anniversary this coming June.)
But it’s just as easy to lose sight of what is important, of what really matters: the love you share, the sacred commitment you’re entering into, the beginning of a new phase in your lives together. We may overlook that as we fret about where to seat Aunt Matilda or worry that there will be enough food to feed everyone. (Note: there always is!)
But more than that, some people question the bigger picture, the whole meaning behind marriage and its true significance as the “most important day in your life”.
Julie Cusmariu, inspirational Montreal life coach and host/creator of Heart Beat Radio, was contemplating these issues as she prepared for her upcoming June nuptials. So much so that she created a new weekly series for her internet radio show called Beyond "I Do": Getting Married Consciously to dig deeper into this institution as it relates to the 21st century.
