The post-holiday season brings more than just warm memories and extra pounds (argh). January also means getting out those black markers and sticky labels to identify our loved ones' new clothing so they don't get lost at school.
Laila B
brings us an alternative solution to make our labelling task a little more fun. Local designer Celina Bailey has been creating kid's clothing from “upcycled” fabrics for years. She recently launched a new collection of personalized eco-friendly T-shirts (US$28, plus US$3 per letter).
All names are entirely handmade out of vintage or recycled fabrics and sewn onto American Apparel T-shirts. Names could also be made of Mom's or Dad's old clothes to create a one-of-a-kind item (now that's really adding a personal touch). We love that these tees look smart, while encouraging name recognition (look Mom, it's my name!).
The best part? We're (almost) guaranteed not to find their clothes in the lost and found.
