1. I’m going to start reading with my daughter 20 minutes a night, as I am supposed to do (but have only been doing a couple times a week, because we rather watch movies together).
2. I’m going to start doing her homework with her, at night, instead of early in the morning, before we rush off to school.
3. I’m going to start a gift closet so I don’t have to run out right before a birthday party, in a mad rush, to find the perfect gift.
4. I’m going to keep, and buy, a child-specific calendar, so every day I don’t have to actively think, OK, today is Wednesday. What the heck does she have going on after school today and at what time?
5. I’m going to take her out of school, once every couple of months, for a “mental health” day. In other words, a day, in the middle of the week, that we can just have fun! Even children need a break!
6. I’m going to continue to have “picnic dinners” in bed with her occasionally, which are super fun. But I’m going to start lying towels down, over the sheets, so when she drops her piece of pizza on the bed, it doesn’t ruin my sheets.
7. I’m going to put my foot down and refuse to watch the same movie with her more than two times. She can watch the same movie numerous times. I can’t stand this. Sorry!
8. I’m going to teach her how to do her own ponytail. Finally!
9. I’m going to start, finally, downloading the hundreds of photos I’ve taken of her, off my phone, and get them printed off.
10. I’m going to organize all of her art work, which is stuffed into every drawer imaginable, and put it all in one place.
