That cutesy mobile hanging over our pumpkin's crib is just not cutting it anymore. We’re looking for something to work with the stylish décor of that nursery we’ve worked so hard on.
In swoops the As the Crow Flies hanging mobile ($49), by Vancouver’s Contexture Design. With its ultra-cool look and a sweet story behind its design inspiration, we’re flocking to this hip-yet-practical accessory.
Apparently, crows have a real sense of family. Couples mate for life, and even though their crow babies grow up and fly off to live in other cities and countries, they still come back to visit the folks once in a while.
The mobile consists of seven two-sided hanging pieces that are laser-cut to depict 14 black crows and a large tree. Since babies love contrast, one side is black recycled paper, and the other? Colourful, salvaged old roadmaps that hint at the long journey these crows make to return to the family nest.
With free shipping within Canada and eco-friendly, low-impact packaging, this killer design gives new meaning to “a murder of crows.”
