Where can we let our little creatures hang off a monkey’s back? At the Calgary Zoo’s newly opened Calgary Co-op Kids Zone of course! (Free with zoo admission: Kids 3-12, $11; Adults, $19.)
Located near the tigers at the West entrance, we couldn’t miss this bright yellow toddler playground designed for two- to five-year-olds. Boasting hand-carved exotic animals from around the world, the wildlife carousel ($3) allowed our little monkeys to hitch a ride on a velociraptor or kangaroo.
After climbing over giraffes and sliding down an elephant trunk, our kids were ready for their perennial favourite, the zoo train ($3) which now resides under a covered station.
Let ’em run wild, we say!
