Wrangle Up the Kids

For 10 days each July, boots and cowboy hats become the norm and the workweek shuts down for non-stop revelry. Our kiddies get their brand-new hats and whistles once again, but isn’t it about time they had their own party?
Jun26_SMCal_Stamp_w200_h114.jpg Well the Calgary Stampede thinks so. For the first time, they are offering a private party exclusively for our young ones right at the Stampede grounds.

We’ll start the day with no parking hassles, thanks to transportation provided by Southland. Greeted by our “party wrangler” at the gate, we’ll be guided to front row seats at the IAMS Superdog show or at the Coca-Cola stage to see Toopy & Binoo.

The Stampede Princess package (starting at $350 for 8 children and 2 adults) sounds fit for our own royalty and her best girlfriends. They’ll not only get to decorate their own pink cowboy hat, but they’ll also get to meet the real Stampede Queens and Princesses.

We’ll finish the day off at our own private “Corral,” complete with a cowgirl cake and a Stampede loot bag. Then it’s happy trails... until next year.
