Harbourfront Offers All-Ages Skating Lessons

learn to skate (kids and adults)Toronto (Dec.02.11)

As Canadians, our kids should know how to skate – even if we haven’t been on the ice in years.

So we’re taking the tikes to the Harbourfront Centre this winter to indulge in the most enjoyable Canadian cold weather past-time (after snuggling, that is). As part of the Skate Culture program, they have over 100 classes for kids, teens and adults of all levels (which means we can brush up on our skills too). The rink also rents skates ($6-$8) and helmets in limited sizes ($5), so it’s okay if we don’t splurge on them for junior just yet.

This year they are also opening a lounge area in the Lakeside Eats area where you can rent board games, cuddle up by the fireplace, or pamper yourself with a coffee or hot chocolate in between ice time.

We might actually be looking forward to getting back on the ice, even if our soon-to-be-bruised bottom isn’t.
