We have been reaping the benefits of yoga for years. So we got to thinking that maybe our kids should try it too. Calming exercise and balance might be just what our little 4-year-old energizer bunny needs.
Before we could say namaste, our kids were doing downward dogs at Karma Kids Yoga. Play-based yoga with stories, music and imaginative relaxation had our wee yoga enthusiasts more than enthusiastic. While they were stretching like a dog and roaring like a lion, they didn’t even realize they were gaining strength, flexibility and body awareness.
Along with the physical benefits, self-control and confidence through more challenging poses and sequences are enhanced for the older kid folk. Cindy Aiello had kids of all ages breathing, bending and giggling their way to better health in no time.
And just like mom, they wanted to don some yoga wear too. (Not that we live in our Lulu pants.) So we suited them up in Karma Kids’ Yoga Wear. The eco-friendly bamboo and cotton make for a soft, breathable garment – perfect for bending and stretching.
Perhaps the next time Sally’s bouncing off the walls, her new relaxation and breathing skills will come in handy (maybe for Mom, too).
