When pregnant, we had a belly that was perfect for propping up baby food recipe books. Then with the baby came a side dish of “mom brain” (and an extra helping of tired). Now our ability to process more than mashed bananas went the way of our waistline (and sleep).
Sprout Right’s mommy chef DVDs
($25.95) offer ways to restore our great intentions. Lianne Phillipson-Webb, our Sweetmama Family Nutrition expert (and, more importantly, a mother of two) shows us how to chop, cook, store and feed Baby’s meals.
Each DVD covers a different stage of eating, as well as food safety, allergy concerns, nutritional content, meat-alternative proteins, and healthy extras like DHA and probiotics. And because of that “mom brain” thing, the DVDs come with a detailed grocery list and recipe card to take shopping.
Lianne believes that exposing our children to real food, introducing flavours and textures at early ages and in stages means there’s less likely to be picky eating in the future. (We’ll have seconds of those great intentions!)
And because we know the influx of cute outfits and toys will overwhelm our other new mommy friends over the holidays, we’re buying extras to give as thoughtful gifts.
