Now that we've embraced Facebook and Twitter -- and figured out our BlackBerry -- we've seen how technology can help us stay connected in our hectic lives.
We've all had that moment where we thought someone's number was in our phone book, only to find we hadn't stored it anywhere. That's why we're so excited about Firefly Locator, a Canadian cellular phone number registry and directory service. Thanks to creator (and mom of many) Marla Kravice, never again do we have to cry because we can't find little Devon's mom's number when we're going to be late picking up from a playdate.
We simply registered our number, paid the affordable $5 annual fee (free trial for the next 30 days), and had all our mom pals do the same. Presto, everyone in our network is now searchable online or via a toll-free number (accessible 24/7). And when our little ones get big enough to have their own phones and ignore our calls, we'll be able to reach their friends -- if ever the need should arise. (We're not stalker moms, honest.)
So pass it on. The more families that sign up, the more useful the service becomes. Before long, we won't remember a time without it.
