Why is it that our 8-month-old beauty will stuff her mouth full of dog food when we’re not looking but can’t stand sweet potatoes?
Desperately seeking sustenance, we turn to Baby Gourmet. Founded by local sisters Jennifer Broe and Jill Vos, we have wild salmon with potato, spinach and leek in the mouth of our babe (and all over her chubby face) in only 30 seconds. The frozen, perfectly sized portions of simple purees, tasty combinations and tempting toddler dishes easily fill the bellies of our babes.
Sure, we may be thrilled at the nutritious, preservative free ingredients. But it’s our princess who gets to enjoy dishes like organic Moroccan lamb and couscous, pasta Bolognese or fillet of sole. The price is just as irresistible at $5-8 per bag.
We’re stocking up in the next three weeks; on March 3 Baby Gourmet is temporarily shutting down so they can get ready to grow bigger. Our only disappointment is that the reopen date is not set. (That, and we wish the Mediterranean chicken came in adult portions.)
